Monero mining modes (Pool, Solo, P2Pool)

One Monero node, three ways to mine on NonceWard Pool — shared Pool (PPLNS), Solo with an on-chain coinbase split, and P2Pool (main and mini). A fixed 1.5 % operator fee in every mode, shown up front. Beta, coming online as the node syncs.

Three modes, one node#

NonceWard.com is the pool, so the Monero modes live here. All three run against one NonceWard Monero node, and you pick a mode when you connect. The operator fee is a fixed 1.5 % in every mode, and each connect page shows it and how it is taken.

Beta — coming online as the node syncs. The NonceWard Monero node is still synchronizing the chain. Until it is fully synced, these modes show as "syncing" and do not accept miners. The shared RandomX pool you already use keeps running the whole time.

Pool mode#

Shared PPLNS, like the RandomX pool today, but on our own Monero node. The pool wallet receives the block and pays every miner reward × (your window difficulty / total window difficulty) × 0.985. The 1.5 % operator fee is the only amount kept, and it is visible per worker as fee minutes on your dashboard. This mode is custodial: your reward sits in the pool wallet between a found block and the payout.

Solo mode#

You mine alone to your own address. When your rig finds a block, the block's coinbase has two outputs in the same transaction: 98.5 % to your address and 1.5 % to the operator. This is the same multi-output coinbase mechanism P2Pool uses, so it is valid on Monero and verifiable on-chain. It is non-custodial: your reward is paid straight to your wallet by the block, we never hold it.

Solo is a lottery. With a small hashrate you may find a block rarely or never — a single CPU can go months or years between Monero blocks. Only the fee model is certain; the payout is not. Use Pool or P2Pool if you want regular income.

P2Pool mode#

Decentralized sidechain payouts (main and mini) without running your own node. NonceWard runs a P2Pool instance for your address on our node, so the sidechain pays your address directly; the 1.5 % fee is taken by redirecting that fraction of your mining time to an operator P2Pool instance, the same transparent time-share method the proxy already uses. It is non-custodial. Note that P2Pool addresses are public on the sidechain. If you prefer to run everything yourself with no NonceWard fee, the self-hosted P2Pool guide still applies.

Honesty#

  • The fee is 1.5 %, shown on every connect page and on your dashboard, with the fee minutes or fee amount per worker.
  • We never advertise a 0 % fee, and we make no promise of profit or of finding a block.
  • Internally reviewed. See also verification.
  • The Monero modes connect to xmr.rugward.com tools and the XMR Arena; mining to NonceWard Pool earns the Arena's Verified Miner badge.
